About Andrea

As an Echols Scholar at the University of Virginia, Andrea designed her own B.A. degree, “Multi-Disciplinary Studies with a Focus on Modern Problems in Healthcare.” Upon graduation, she took her first yoga class and awakened to the wonderful world of body-mind-spirit healing. A popular song at the time had the line “blinded by science” that succinctly underscored a feeling that the basic sciences as taught at “the university” did not address the whole of nature.

Andrea considers her true higher education to be the four years she then spent at Satchidananda Ashram-Yogaville in Buckingham, Virginia. She studied bodywork at the Virginia School of Massage and the Healing Arts, graduating in 1996 with skills in general relaxation massage, deep tissue work, and myofascial release technique. The energetic fine-tuning modalities of CranioSacral Therapy and Polarity Therapy are her passion. Andrea loves to hike, camp, read, cook, write, and receive bodywork.

Sees clients: Tuesday through Saturday.
