C.M.T., Potomac Massage Training Institute, 2008 B.A., University of Oregon, 1982 Associate Degree, Lane Community College, Eugene, Oregon, 1979 About Debra Debra's graduation from the Potomac Massage Training Institute was the culmination of a long and serious interest in health care, including public policy in this area. She has a degree in political science from the University of Oregon. She studied nutrition and massage therapy at Lane Community College in Eugene, and first practiced massage therapy there. Later she worked on health-care issues as a congressional staff assistant and then as a food and nutrition policy analyst in the federal government. In addition to using massage for muscle pain relief and relaxation, Debra has a particular interest in auto-immune and neuro-muscular diseases and the effects of massage on improving muscle tone and function for individuals with these conditions. Debra is also a potter and an avid Iyengar yoga practitioner. She enjoys finding ways to incorporate her knowledge of yoga and its effects on specific muscle groups into her massage work.
